Groundsman Vacancy:

STRADBROKE Cricket Club require an assistant to their overworked groundsman. Duties include some grass cutting, pitch preparation & maintenance. Would suit an active retired person, or someone younger looking to start a career path. This is a voluntary position, but the Club will pay to attend locally-run, 1-day Institute of Groundsmen courses in spring & autumn. Interested? Young Umpires Award Tutor Vacancy: 

Following the success of the Young Umpires Award course earlier this year, the ECB have asked if there is anyone (preferably aged 18 – 25yrs approximately) interested in actually tutoring this course. Ideally anyone interested should have an umpiring qualification (Level 1 or 2) however all applicants will be considered. Please note all training for this course will be provided by the ECB.

Chance to shine Community Cricket Coach:

Job Title:  Community Cricket Coach in the Ipswich area 
Salary:  £7800 pa pro rata
Other Benefits: Car mileage allowance for work related travel
Base Location: Role will be based from Home
Period:  Fixed term contract of 26 weeks, starting on or around the 1st of April 2010, 15 hours per week.

Closing Date: 15th March 2010

Primary Role:
This role, created in partnership with Chance to shine, Westbourne and Copleston school partnerships, and the Suffolk Cricket Board Development team, will be to work as a member of the development team in the delivery of a schools cricket development programme from the 1st of April for 26 weeks.  

About the Job:
• Delivery of Chance to shine coaching sessions, focusing on Year 5-9 boys and girls cricket.
• Signpost young people through player pathways from schools to local clubs.
• Ensure that each school meets the Chance to shine requirements.
• Support the SSP in the organisation of primary cricket leagues and festivals.
• Enhance primary staff’s knowledge and understanding of kwik cricket.
• Support activities in the school holiday period.

Qualifications/Skills
• Knowledge/experience of sports development
• Cricket coaching experience with young people
• An understanding of the Chance to shine programme is desirable
• Good communication and time management skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Minimum UKCC 2 or ECB Level 2 cricket coach, and an ECB CA member 
• Full, valid driving licence and access to a car
• Computer Literacy, including MS Office applications
