ImageCricket is the fastest growing international sport for women and girls, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC). In 2009 the ASDA Kwik Cricket competition experienced a 97% increase in girls’ teams competing nationally; in Suffolk we achieved a 300% increase! SCB is leading the way in actively creating opportunities for more women and girls to enjoy cricket in schools and clubs.

Newsflash

Some of you may be aware of the new National Planning Policy (NPP) Framework which has been produced by the coalition government.

Currently it is in draft form and is currently out for public consultation. The ECB, in conjunction with Sport England, have reviewed this document and it has raised a number of concerns that we feel will have a significant impact at all levels of cricket.

Please click here for a letter which briefly summarises the proposed changes to planning policy and identifies the risks to cricket. Please click here for a full copy of the NPP framework in its entirety.

Please could all Clubs comment on the public consultation, so that we can galvanise as much support to ensure the long term future of cricket.  Please click here for a template letter, if clubs wish to use and feel appropriate.

Please note the public consultation finishes on 17 October 2011.
