Suffolk County Cricket Board

The Ipswich & District Youth League held it’s AGM on Tuesday 23rd February, kindly hosted by Ipswich CC.

It was great to see a good turnout from a number of clubs involved with this league.

Some of the key highlights that came out of the AGM were;

1) Expansion of the League to include Under 9 and u17 age groups

2) Proposal to amend rules put forward by Kesgrave CC, to principally remove ruling over a stated batting order. This was discussed at length with the decision taken to retain existing rules.

3) Finals Day to take place on Sunday July 11th at Ipswich CC, with all league matches to be completed by Friday July 2nd

Chairman Andrew Blanchard added: “We are delighted to see the Ipswich and District Cricket League continue to grow this year.  With the addition of an Under 9 and Under 17 section for 2010 there are 50 teams entered into this year’s tournament which will come to a conclusion on a Finals Day to be held at Ipswich Cricket Club on Sunday 11th July.  It is fantastic that youth cricket continues to develop in Suffolk.”
