It is with great sadness that we have learned of the recent and sudden death of Mick Crane, a stalwart of Suffolk cricket for many years.

Mick, who was 62, became a member of the Association of Suffolk Umpires and Scorers and officiated at several Two Counties matches. He was well known for his involvement in youth coaching and hundreds of youngsters at Stowmarket Cricket Club have benefited from his expertise over many years.
 
His funeral service will be at North Chapel at Ipswich Crematorium on Monday, July 26 10:45am, and I hope as many of our members as possible will be able to attend to pay tribute to one of cricket's true gentlemen.
