Exciting new funding opportunity announced by Suffolk Sport Print E-mail

Our colleagues at Suffolk Sport have recently announced that the application process is now OPEN for the new national funding programme SPORTIVATE.

Sportivate is a nationwide campaign that aims to capture the enjoyment of sport, providing opportunities for teenagers and young adults (including disability sport) to receive 6 weeks of coaching or led sessions.

Sportivate is a £32 million National Lottery funded programme and is part of the Play strand of Sport England’s London 2012 mass participation legacy programme ‘Places People Play’. The overall aim of this project is for 300,000 participants aged 14-25 years to complete weekly sessions with 120,000, continuing to play sport regularly as a result.  Sportivate will try to change habits and get more young people doing activity regularly. Sportivate is a four year project that will commence in April 2011 and run until March 2015.

At Suffolk Cricket we work closely with the Suffolk Sport team and would encourage affiliated clubs in the county to share with us your ideas for developing a SPORTIVATE project.  We can advise and help you put together a funding bid or combine a number bids to maximise the impact.  For more information please contact Andrew Blanchard This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or 07738 199150
